Past WISTAX Board Contributions

Much like the current members of the WISTAX board, individuals who have served on the WISTAX board since 1994 have also been active political givers. Since 1994, the year Todd Berry assumed leadership, members of the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance board of directors have given a total of $1.39 million to political candidates at both the federal and state levels.

And like the current WISTAX board members, the past members of the WISTAX board have given almost exclusively to Republican or non-partisan conservative candidates. Of the over $1 million donated to political candidates by past members of the WISTAX board, $932,314 went to Republicans and conservatives, or 92.7 percent.

Compare the 9:1 ratio of Republican giving by past WISTAX board members to the giving of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, a group that makes its conservative, pro-corporate agenda clear. The current WMC board of directors gives to Republicans and conservatives 82 percent of the time.
